Staten Islander News Organization sat down with Teresa Clark, Vice President of the Federation of Catholic Teachers in New York. The FCT has represented the lay faculty at Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of New York since 1970, and has fought for better salaries, safer working conditions, and health insurance coverage options to faculty at schools around the state. Opening the union to aides and assistants will recognize the dignity of their career paths, as their roles have become essential to the schools over the decades.
